To keep your wood flooring looking its best we recommend that you regularly clean and maintain your floor to prolong its lifetime in your home or business. With solid wood flooring to keep it clean simply sweep the surface with a soft bristle brush once a day, if you have any stains or marks you would like to remove use a mop and PH neutral cleaning product - this can be done once a week. For engineered wood flooring the maintenance routine is the same, only make sure to use a flat bottomed mop so water doesn't accumulate.

Wood flooring does change colour over time dependant on its environment if the floor is in direct sunlight the colour will eventually start to become lighter. Each wood flooring option is different in regards to species and therefore how sensitive it is to light. Keep in mind that your floor won't look the same after 20 years compared to when you first bought it!

Vinyl flooring is continuously recommended for a bathroom or wet room environment, as it’s the only flooring solution that doesn't warp or change when in contact with water. We stock popular brands such as Amtico, Karndean, Tarkett, Forbo, and Quick Step to give our customers a variety of styles, colours, textures, and patterns. Vinyl flooring has been designed for maximum strength, stability, and durability, contact our team to find out more on 01202 679877!

Many people wonder what the noticeable differences are between laminate and wood flooring are. Simply put visually there isn't much difference, but it’s their materials and manufacturing process that makes the floors vastly different. Laminate flooring contains four layers including one 3D high-resolution image of real wood or tiles, its multiple moisture resistant, non-warping, and wear-resistant layers give it a 25-year warranty from the brand Quick Step. Whereas wood flooring is made of 100% natural wood and can last a lifetime in a property if regularly maintained. If you still are unsure on the differences why not contact us today!

Vinyl FAQs

At KC Carpets and Flooring, we are proud suppliers of a variety of popular vinyl flooring brands including Amtico, Karndean, Forbo and Quick-Step.

Vinyl is a fantastic flooring material that boasts a whole host of benefits for homeowners and businesses alike. Not only is vinyl flooring a cost-effective alternative to real wood, stone or tiles without compromising on style, it also comes in a huge range of styles. It also has high stain and water resistance properties, is extremely durable and long-lasting and is easy to maintain and clean.

Yes! Vinyl flooring is perfectly suited to kitchens as its smooth surface is resistant to stains and is super easy to clean. So you can spill cake batter, throw spaghetti bolognese and even have a food fight without worrying about damaging your floor (though we do recommend cleaning up spills once you’re done having fun!).

Vinyl floors are great because they require very little attention to keep them looking their best. We advise regular sweeping or vacuuming to remove any loose dirt and debris, cleaning up spills straight away with a damp cloth, and to remove more stubborn dirt and marks, cleaning with warm, soapy water. When using cleaning chemicals, ensure you test the product on a discrete patch of your floor to make sure it won’t damage the surface.

At KC Carpets and Flooring, our vinyl flooring comes in a wide array of different styles, colours and patterns including ceramic, metallic, marble and wood effects that are so realistic, you may forget that it isn’t real.

Durable, easy to clean and available in a choice of styles, luxury vinyl tiles offer all the benefits of vinyl flooring but with the added bonus of being easily replaced if one tile gets damaged. This makes them ideal for busy commercial premises such as offices, shops, hotels, restaurants and even schools where accidental damage is likely to occur.

LVT Flooring

Yes! Luxury vinyl tiles come in any number of different colours, textures and finishes, from wood and stone to ceramic tiles and marble. With the extensive range available at KC Carpets, you’re sure to find the perfect fit for your property. Indeed, our Tarkett ID Inspiration range alone is available in 122 designs and colours!

Definitely not. Thanks to developments in technology, the material and finishes used nowadays to make vinyl are highly sophisticated which means our range of luxury vinyl tiles are a high-quality and long-lasting flooring option.

At KC Carpets we use only the best suppliers for our luxury vinyl tiles, including prestigious and well-known brands such as Karndean, Tarkett, Amtico and Invictus.

Our range of luxury vinyl tiles are a much more affordable option than other types of flooring and provides a stunning finish that is accessible to everyone.

Aside from providing an attractive, easy to look after floor, one of the main benefits of choosing luxury vinyl tiles is their flexibility. As they are laid as separate tiles, should an area of your floor become damaged, you don’t need to replace the whole floor, just the tarnished tile.

Maintaining your luxury vinyl tile floor is incredibly easy thanks to its smooth, wipe-clean surface. We recommend regular sweeping, to remove any debris that may cause damage, and cleaning with warm soapy water to make sure it stays lovely and hygienic.

Due to their smooth, water-resistant surface, luxury vinyl tiles are always a popular choice for kitchens and bathrooms. However, here at KC Carpets, we often see customers installing them in any room in their home or commercial property to take advantage of this affordable, practical and attractive alternative flooring product.

Wood Flooring

At KC Carpets and Flooring, we supply seven different types of wood flooring that include oak, maple, cedar, walnut, merbau, bamboo and ash.

One of the many advantages of wood flooring is the range of finishes you can choose from, such as brushed, lacquered, oiled or matte. If you’re not sure which is the right option for you, please feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

Solid wood flooring is made from a solid piece of timber cut from a tree, formed into planks and then dried in a kiln. A great advantage of solid wood is that it improves with age and you can change its look by sanding it down and applying the finish of your choice.

Safety Flooring

Solid wood flooring is made from a solid piece of timber cut from a tree, formed into planks and then dried in a kiln. A great advantage of solid wood is that it improves with age and you can change its look by sanding it down and applying the finish of your choice.

Yes. Thanks to its unique mix of materials, safety flooring is very hygienic as its flat surface is easy to clean and maintain.

Due to the nature of its intended use, safety flooring is designed to be highly durable and long-lasting, especially when looked after properly.

Safety flooring is a highly versatile flooring material and will work well in almost any area of your business. The most popular areas are, of course, gyms and sports halls but it also works well in areas that are prone to getting wet from foot traffic coming in from the rain, such as corridors and reception areas.

I had the whole of my upstairs recarpeted in November by the team at KC Carpets. I went with a Cormar carpet after recommendation by Tony in the show room in Wimborne & am so pleased with it. From initial home visit to measure up, all the way to fitting, the customer service has been outstanding & I couldn't recommend KC Carpets more.
Thank you Tony, Rob & the rest of the team!

Great service and good advice. Heavy use carpet and nosing installed on stairway with the added difficulty of having to complete during working hours. Pricing was also spot on. I would highly recommend.

My wife and I have used KC Carpets and Flooring Ltd in both our homes to date. Firstly our flat in Poole, which the KC team fully fitted out and then now our house in Wimborne, running new flooring through the ground floor and carpet up the stairs and landing. The fitters were amazing and they had to deal with other tradesmen working on site at the time but went about their jobs without any fuss. The service they provide is second to none and I couldn't recommend them highly enough. Thank you to all at KC.

The team helped support Stonewater Housing in fitting carpets very very last minute for a vulnerable customer. The staff were polite, friendly and on hand to answer any questions I had! We called them at 4:45 on Wednesday and by 4:30 on Thursday a full 2 bedroom flat now has lovely carpets and vinyl ready for its new family!

Having worked with Design Flooring by KC for a number of years on a professional basis, it was a no brainer when it came to choosing a carpet supplier & fitter for a personal project. They take the time to discuss your requirements and options for your budget, with friendly and professional advice to help support you with your choices. Always find them to be amenable regarding attendance to fit and this time was no exception; they worked around our project and I had no qualms of leaving them to liaise with my builders directly where needed. The standard of the fitting is impeccable and it's really transformed my home. Absolutely recommend them. Thank you!
